Wuhan Form Guide
Wuhan are the kind of team that can beat the best in the world one week, then lose to part-timers the next. That kind of inconsistency led them down the path of a 7th place finish last season and while that may not have been great for a lot of fans, there are times when they seem as if a relegation battle is more their kind of level - which says a lot about some of their individual talent.
Wuhan can never seem to get out of their own way and right now, that’s playing out again as they sit in 8th place. After 13 games, they’ve won four, drawn three and lost six, and it’s just quite hard to tell what kind of game plan they’re going to put forward.
Meizhou Form Guide
The good thing for Meizhou is that a handful of sides below them simply were not good enough to even be in the top tier last season, which gave them the chance to push away and avoid any late drama in the campaign. The bad news, though, is that many consider them to be one of the favourites to go down this time around - putting them in the position of being notable underdogs.
After 12 games of the season, Meizhou have only been able to win one game, drawing six and losing five. While some will take pride in the fact that they’ve lost less than half of their games, they’ve also only managed to score nine goals in the league which is a big concern.
Match Prediction
One of these sides looks steady enough to start the campaign, whereas the other is really struggling to make any kind of impact. This one will likely be tight for the first 15 minutes or so but from there, the hosts will begin to pull away, which is why we’re backing a Wuhan win.
