We’re in the endgame now, ladies and gentlemen. The Premier League season is entering the final furlong with just a handful of games remaining for clubs up and down English football’s top tier. Whether it be the title race, the relegation battle or anything in between, there’s still a lot left to be determined. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Everton and Brentford.
Everton Form GuideEverton manager Sean Dyche isn’t the kind of guy to let his team go quietly into the night. With that in mind, and with their legal situation still ongoing with the Premier League, we’d argue that the club feeling ‘slighted’ could really help them in the months that lie ahead. There’s no guarantee of survival in a division like this one, but for some reason, they just don’t know how to quit.
Following a big 1-0 win over Burnley, Everton were taken apart in a 6-0 battering away to Chelsea. Since then, though, they’ve rebounded in style with two major wins as they defeated Nottingham Forest 2-0 and rivals Liverpool 2-0.
Brentford Form GuideFor the first time since being promoted to the Premier League, it does feel as if there’s a bit of panic in the air at Brentford. As a club, they’re still being run very well, and they aren’t in any immediate danger when it comes to the relegation battle. At the same time, it only takes one bad run of form to lead you down the wrong path, and the Bees have shown some real weaknesses lately.
Since losing 2-1 to Burnley, Brentford have actually been on a really nice unbeaten run. They picked up a point in draws with Manchester United, Brighton and Aston Villa, before going on to secure nice victories over Sheffield United and Luton.
Match PredictionIt feels like both of these teams are crawling towards survival and while they’ll both want to forget this campaign in a hurry, they’ve done a solid job of edging away from the bottom three thus far. In terms of the result, we don’t expect to see anything too special, which is why we’re predicting a draw.
